Highlights events in 2010
In France :
Investment efforts continue:
• Regarding industrial initiatives: Production capacity at Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, Messimy and Montévrain were increased.
• Regarding IT initiatives: Deployment of the new computer system for distribution / order preparation (ARPEGE) in 15 distribution sites. That project will be extended throughout all 31 distribution sites, until June 2011.
Promotional efforts continue:
- In April, launching a radio campaign for Rhinallergy®.
- In May, first television advertisement was presented for Camilia®.
- For the first time, Oscillococcinum®, Coryzalia® and Stodal® were subjects of a poster campaign in the bus shelters of 180 cities.
- In December, the new TV spot for Homéogène 9®.
- In September and October, the inauguration of two preparation and distribution laboratories. During the year 2010, five sites were divested (Rouen, Nantes, Orléans, Tours, Toulouse).
- In October, refund obtained under the «additional tax on direct sales: €9,960 thousand of principal and €2,996 thousand of interest. There is no impact on income for the 2010 period : given the appeal of URSSAF, a provision has been recorded.
Abroad :
- In Belgium: since September, the marketing of the new Oscillococcinum® 30 Dose format began and, Oscillococcinum® was the subject of a television advertisement.
- In Hungary, launched in June, Arnigel® has benefitted from a partnership with Katalin Palinger, a very popular handball champion in Hungary. Arnigel® has been promoted through a press campaign and posters at pharmacies.
- In Tunisia, Camilia® was the subject of a successful launch to pediatricians during several symposia.
- Boiron Portugal has promoted non-proprietary medicines and OTC specialties since January 1.
- In Brazil, capital increases of: 1,191,460 BRL, 2,800,000 BRL and 1,864,537 BRL in January, March and August which brought the capital of its subsidiary to 9,056,537 BRL (3,699,871€).
- In Poland, Camilia® was launched in July with a major marketing campaign to physicians, pharmacists and mothers.
- In Russia, 12 Dose Oscillococcinum® was successfully launched in August, supported by a press campaign and a television advertisement.
